How Does the Uber Pro Card Work?

The Uber Pro card is a debit card that offers cashback rewards to Uber drivers.

The amount of cashback you earn hinges on your Uber Pro status—your Pro status can be Blue, Gold, Platinum, or Diamond, depending on the points you’ve earned on the Uber Driver app.

Based on these tiers, your base cashback rate can range between 2% to 6%.

Plus, if you fill up at an Exxon and Mobil station, you’ll get an extra 3% cashback.

To top things off, you’ll earn an additional 1% cashback if the gas station participates in the Mastercard Easy Savings program.

The rewards don’t stop at fuel savings, though. You’ll also bag 4% cashback at eligible restaurants and hotels through the Mastercard Easy Savings program.

Uber Pro Card: Pros and Cons

Here’s a glance at all the pros and cons of getting this credit card:

  • Generous rewards program.
  • Instant payments for completed Uber trips.
  • No credit score check.
  • Free Allpoint ATMs.
  • No lengthy temporary gas hold.

Pros—why we like it

Generous rewards program

This card’s cashback rewards program is great: You can get up to 10% back on gas and up to 12% on electric charging.

If you fuel up at Exxon and Mobil gas pumps, they’ll throw in an extra 3% back.

And if you buy gas from a participating gas station in the Mastercard Easy Savings program, you’ll get an additional 1% back.

The program also offers up to 4% back at select hotels and restaurants: Enjoy the cashback rate at over 6,000 hotels, including Holiday Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt Place, and Days Inn.

When it comes to restaurants, you’re in for a treat: Outback Steakhouse, Jersey Mike’s, Red Lobster, BJ’s Brewhouse, Pizza Hut, Panda Express, and many others are part of the bonus 4% rate group.

Instant payments for completed Uber trips

The Uber Pro card comes with a Branch checking account. So all your earnings go directly to your Uber Pro Card after every trip—free of charge.

You can also withdraw cash for free at 55,000+ ATMs using the Pro card.

No credit score check

The Uber Pro card is a debit card, so you won’t need a credit history to get this card. You qualify as long as you have an active Uber Driver account.

Cons—what to consider

Cashback is capped at $100 per month

While the card comes with some impressive reward rates, cashback on fuel and EV charging is capped at $100 per month.

Take a look at our list of the best cashback credit cards for more rewards.

Best cashback rates for Diamond status

We’ve discussed how Uber implements a tiered rewards system, so the cashback rates are different for everyone.

While the base rate for Diamond status is a solid 6% on gas, Blue drivers get just 2% back.

Doesn’t help you build credit

Since Uber Pro is a debit card, it can’t help you build credit.

Here are some Uber Pro card reviews from cardholders on the internet:

“Becoming a pro member with Uber has a lot of advantages, you get cashback when at the pump as well at many other retail outlets, discounts when using in restaurants, etc.”

“I will give this bank credit for being convenient, but when it comes to disputes, it’s the worst. I was on hold for so long that I had time to shop at four different stores, drive home, put away the groceries, and was still on hold.”

“I just got the card out of the mailbox and activated it. I was immediately allowed to accept a $50 loan from Uber. This came at just the right time, as money is tight right now and I needed this little boost to help me with gas money.”

Is the Uber Pro Card Good for Me?

The Uber Pro Debit Card isa great deal for Uber drivers who want to score some top-notch cashback rewards at the pump.

Even if you only use the card for gas and cashing out your Uber earnings, it’s worth considering in addition to your other debit or credit cards.

Who wouldn’t want to get up to 10% back on their gas expenses, especially when it’s a big part of your work as an Uber driver?

Remember
